As you may know Portugal is the newest member of the EGLC community and therefore, we have tried to develop a programme that is suitable for new comers as well as for advanced ones. For that purpose the programme was divided as follow:
- Day One is a more industry led day where a series of presentations covering cases studies of Lean implementation will be carried out. At the end of Day One, there will be a round table to discuss priorities for the construction industry.
- Day Two has a more academic flavour and starts by reviewing learnt in Day One and how it impacts research. There will be a series of workshops where ongoing research will be presented and their way forward discussed. By this way we believe we will raise awareness of the research in progress within our community as well as give the opportunity for the presenters to get some useful feedback and directions for their research. At the end of Day Two there will be a session for research updating and the exploration of collaboration opportunities.
- The location of the next EGLC should be discussed throughout this session as well. In this respect, academics that are interested in hosting the next event should contact Andre Barros (EGLC Secretariat; lean@civil.uminho.pt) up to a week before the event.
- Away day: See attached file, regarding the Douro River/Area away day proposed event.
Thanks in advance for confirming your participation before the end of March 2010, following the directions mentioned on the attached Registration Form (page).
Best Regards,
André Barros
